Surf Day Camp (3 Day Pass)
Boat Harbour
Overview
Waves Surf School has offered Adventure Surf Camps and Day Trips out of Sydney for over 20 years. Owned and operated by Dean “Deano” Dunstone, this father of two teenagers is a qualified surf instructor, professional skater & actor, landscape designer and horticulturalist. With an amazing raport with children of all ages, safety is his main priority, yet fun is undoubtedly what he exudes. Waves have run School Surf Camps with Barker College, Outdoor Education Group, German International School, Bridigine College, Brighton Grammar and Haileybury College.
Open to all levels, from first time groms to gnarly carvers, kids will come home with a bag of new skills. Lessons will be given on the beach, in the waves (and some days at the skatepark).
We will teach participants the following:
- Surf and water safety
- Reading the waves
- Rips & banks
- Duck diving & eskimo roles
- Board retrieval & recovery
- Wipeout techniques
Where we go
Trips are run at Boat Harbour Park – a private access beach 40mins south of Bronte. The beach is south facing, so offers similar conditions to Bondi. Waves are crowd free, ensuring more safety in the water than the busy eastern beach breaks.
How we get there
Leaving from Bronte, kids are transported in the Waves 20 Seater Toyota Coaster bus or the Waves 4WD Toyota Troop Carrier, which transports them onto the beach. The drive onto the beach is an adventure in itself!
DAY STARTS – 8:30am DAY ENDS – 4pm (approx)
Parents do have the option to transport children themselves, meeting the crew at Boat Harbour. This would alter the start/finish time to: DAY STARTS – 9:15am DAY ENDS – 3pm.
Inclusions
Fruit and lunch provided:Â Beach BBQ, sandwiches & fruit are on the menu. BYO SNACKS & TREATS

We run SAFELY in all conditions. If swell is too big, there are a number of protected beaches in the Royal National Park that create perfect little waves when the rest of the east Coast is being hammered! Parents are advised of location change the morning of the trip.
